Healthy Thanksgiving Side Dishes You’ve Never Tried

As we gather to give thanks, the turkey is often the annual show stopper. Not, this thanksgiving! Move over turkey, make room for these two sexy sweet potato sides.

Shingled Sweet Potatoes with Harissa

Harissa (pronounced hah-ree-suh), a tomato-based spicy chili paste widely used in North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, gives these sweet potatoes an exotic and decadent flavour. Most harissa recipes are made with a blend of hot chile peppers, garlic, olive oil, and spices, like cumin, coriander and mint. You can make your own, or buy it pre-made at a middle easter grocer.
