FOOD FRIDAYS: Skinny Paloma (No Sugar Added)⁠

This recipe is for you if you love a good cocktail on the weekend! It can be hard to resist the delicious sugary drinks that come with summer barbeques and weekend holidays, lucky enough, this cocktail is just as delicious without any added sugar! ⁠

This lightened-up version of a Paloma gets its sweetness from fresh grapefruit mixed with tequila, lime juice and a splash of sparkling water – you would never guess it’s a “healthier” alternative to a classic cocktail. Just as refreshing and perfect for warm summer nights! ⁠

Double or triple the recipe and mix in a pitcher to bring to your next picnic, barbeque or event! Just top off each glass with sparkling water when ready to serve. Try it out this weekend!⁠

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces fresh grapefruit juice2-3 pink or red grapefruits, juiced
  • 3 ounces tequila
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • ice
  • grapefruit flavoured sparkling wateroptional
  • sea salt flakes or pink Himalayan sea saltfor the rim

Directions: 

  1. Add 1 shot of tequila, 6 ounces of grapefruit juice, 1 teaspoon of lime juice and ice into each glass. Stir to combine, add a splash of sparkling water (if using) and garnish with a lime wedge.
