Golden Tumeric Latte

All the spices in this drink are known to increase circulation.  What a great way to stay warm in December!  Turmeric aids the body in detoxification, is anti-inflammatory, and improves cognitive health.  It’s golden colour is so festive and bright – just in time for holiday brunch…

Ingredients:

2 cups almond milk or oat milk

¼ tsp. tumeric

¼ tsp. ground cinnamon

½ inch fresh grated ginger, or ground ginger

Pinch of black pepper

Maple syrup or honey, to taste

Optional Toppings:

Dried edible flowers

Ground cinnamon

Directions:

  • In a small saucepan, whisk milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
  • Bring to a boil
  • Lower the heat and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes
  • Using a strainer, pour the turmeric into a cup
  • To make a frothy latte, pour the mixture into a blender, and blend
  • If you choose this step, you may want to rinse your blender with soap and water directly after, as the turmeric can stain your blender!
  • Sweeten with maple syrup or honey, to taste
