Food Fridays: Chai Apple Smoothie

Looking for a fast and easy recipe that you can take on the go? Smoothies are a great option – and they aren’t just for the summer months!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Apples are rich in quercetin (a plant pigment known as a
flavonoid). It is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Apples also support blood glucose which makes helps in weight reduction and also helps to reduce hunger.

Apples are a staple in our Metabolic Balance program. We added in ginger and turmeric to this smoothie to give it an extra immune kick. The extra immune boost is perfect for this time of year when colds and flus are still lingering around.

Try this recipe out today!


  • Presoaked – 30g almonds and 20g of sunflower seeds (aka mandelade)
  • 1 apple (cored and sliced)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Spices – cloves, cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, nutmeg, fresh ginger
  • 125 ml water and ice


  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender and enjoy!
