What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a mind-body practice of quieting the conscious mind through deep relaxation, to communicate with the unconscious mind and make positive changes to the thoughts, patterns and behaviours that keep people from living their best lives.
The unconscious mind controls 95% of who we are – from our blood pressure and heart rate, to maintaining the beliefs, perceptions and routines we follow each day. Even when we consciously want to make different choices to be happier, healthier and more successful, the unconscious mind wants to keep us stuck because it’s known.
Hypnotherapy speaks directly to the unconscious, where deep change takes place. Through NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and hypnotherapeutic techniques, neural pathways are rewired, enabling people to live life on their own terms.

Indirect hypnosis sessions, also known as conversational hypnotherapy, are gentle, relaxing, and empowering. Clients leave feeling refreshed, energized, and clear about their desires and direction.

Can I be hypnotized?
As humans, we move in and out of hypnosis – or trance states – all day. When we are enthralled in a good movie or a song we love, these are trance states. We are so deeply focused that we lose track of everything happening around us. Hypnosis allows us a calm focus on only one thing. It feels like stillness, peace, and taking a moment to be entirely present.
Will I lose control?
No. You will always be in complete control. The purpose of this work is to give you more control over your life, mind and body. When you can stop limiting beliefs and choose new empowering ones, you are free. If for any reason you need to awaken while in hypnosis, you will do so with all your resources, though you will likely feel very relaxed.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies based on your unique situation. Together, we will evaluate your goals and needs to create a personalized plan that best supports you. Most issues can be addressed in 2-5 sessions.
Hypnotherapy at Soma & Soul:
1) Begin with a 20-minute Complimentary Discovery Call to discuss your goals, learn more about hypnotherapy and how it can help you.
2) Fill out the intake form, providing as much detail as possible as to what you are struggling with, what you have tried in the past, how you want your life to change, etc.
3) Book a 75-minute Initial Session to discuss your intake form and what you want to get out of hypnotherapy. You will learn self hypnosis so you can practice at home between sessions. Using NLP and hypnotherapeutic techniques, we will work on your goals.
4) Book a 60-minute Follow Up Session to discuss your progress, questions and make adjustments to the plan as needed.

I’m Robyn – a certified hypnotherapist, training as a clinical hypnotherapist. My journey to hypnotherapy came via a career in journalism. I spent years asking people to share their stories, without being able to help them make the changes they desperately wanted in their lives. My work in hypnotherapy allows me to hear people’s stories then help them to free themselves from anything holding them back from living their biggest, best lives.
I have personally used hypnotherapy in birthing my three babies, in overcoming anxiety, augmenting productivity, purpose and connection. The applications are immense, and I love being able to help people discover that life can be much simpler once we get our unconscious minds on board with what we truly want. I am a wife, mom to three amazing kids and two doodles. I’m also a writer, and I recently finished my first novel.
